Mary Quant
The Victoria & Albert Museum
The collections of British fashion designer Mary Quant could be considered a time capsule of 1960s Britain. Currently displayed at London’s V&A, ‘Mary Quant’ is the first international restrospective of her work in almost 50 years. The dynamic exhibition pays tribute to Quant—exploring design, self expression and accessibility within fashion. Alongside an inquisitive examination of Quant’s masterful tailoring and eye for style, the audience can explore how her approach to brand and business encouraged autonomy for young women of the time. In their celebration of the legacy of this fashion icon the V&A have, in 2019, brought the ‘swinging 60s’ to life.
We find this work inspiring, particularly for our Design Sphere. Read more about the Spheres here.
